(I am writing this post because I think I don’t have guest/courage to talk directly about this and hoping that all of you read this.)

Yesterday 30 December 2011 will be unforgettable day of my life well I can say I got a friend of my life; Lucinda, I regretted and miss not  to to be with her on the new years eve (well I can say my mistake). she is one of the few people I would like to spend your rest of the life with.

While talking to her I missed some of my really good friends Anand Ramaswami, Sharath MS, Saurabh Gadhi, Ankur Gupta, Snehal Shivsharan, Nikhil Karwall, Mohit Bhoite, Mohit Jain, Sunil Mishra, Milind Sali, Sagar Dhavare and I realize how much important they are to me, guys you are some of the people who will never asked me why didn’t I talk to you since long time but the conversation will be like we just spoke yesterday I think that just because we understand each other so well that we never had that question or attitude within us.(or may be we all are like this only and trust each other).  if I get a change to select the people I want to spend life you all will be always there without any question.

I will thanks Lucinda for making my day so special and all of you my friends to being with me.

I will also like to thank you all(including Lucinda) to making me the person who I am today.

I have a tears while writing this and feeling so happy and proud for have such a amazing people in my life.

I will like to say sorry if I have done any mistake or I have heart you till now.

And I wish you all a Very Happy New Year.

Keep Enjoying!

It’s 4 months in Paris!

I am liking this place very much.

Well some things are still new to get use to specially weather its so cold that sometimes I think refrigerate is better to place to stay in ;) . but sun rise and set has still it’s own story rises after 8 am and sets around 5- 5:30 pm so you left home in the night(dark) and reach home in the night(dark) only,  no sun at all :(  and this makes me very lazy sometimes.

But the good part is learning new stuff making new friends, well not many till now two very good friends Lucinda and Benjamin. (I will introduce them in next post)

Travelling! I have a lots of plan to travel around the France and Europe, but till now just visited one place in the south of France i.e Grenoble.

Also brought the 1st camera of my life here in Paris Fuji FinePix S4000 (Well after using friends 550D now I want new cam :D ). you can see the pics on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/thezeroth

Studies! well this is the main (or use as a excuse ;) ) to come to Paris.  it’s also going good, apart from the French language (which I am improving ) everything else is really cool I like  practical approach for studies/teaching here.

well that’s the story till now in Paris.

Cheers!

Bonjour!
Well I left India for the 1st Time in my life and here is what I observed about this Beautiful place Paris!

Some funny but interesting stuff.

You go anywhere in Paris like Mall, Shop, Bar, Hotel/Restaurant you look at someone they will definitely greet you they will at least say Bonjour!.

I got a chance to visit a small road-side bar, the owner of the bar will go personally to each and every person and greet them and ask ça-va? (How are you? in French). Its not so common in India where I stay people sometimes people will not even smile to you.

Then I went to another road-side bar which is bit modern and lots of youth were there. the bar was handled by a young women single handedly quite amazing in India on roadside Bar (well very few I think) normally you won’t find a women at all!

One very totally different experience was when I was crossing a road one Bus was taking a turn so stop for bus to go, but bus driver stop and told me you 1st Mr. :) , well the people who has been to India or who are in India knows why this is different and amazing.

well last but funny for me sun rise at 7am and sets at 8 – 8:30 pm ;)

So today my colleague ask me ” I have a variable VERSION in .pro file (qmake project file) I want to use that variable in my C++ code, How to do that?”

After a little search on Google I figured that we have export project files variable as a macro for C/C++ code and it very easy.

As the per problem we want VERSION variable in C++ code. So in  project file we write

DEFINES += VERSION=\\\"$$VERSION\\\"

and in C/C++ code just

qDebug()<< VERSION ;

this is just a awesome.

I attend India’s Biggest Open-Source conference FOSS.IN from 2007, and in 2009, in the same conference, I started contributing to KDE/Kate project.

I wrote Tabify plugin for Kate editor and also submitted a few patches to kate and KDE. Then I got lazy and didn’t do much significant contributions.

And again the Foss.in season arrived and I thought why not give a talk on Kate plugin in Foss.in KDE day. There are not much Kate contributors in India and I can share what I learnt and we can get more contributors in Kate too. That seemed to be an inspiring idea.

But I got disappointed since this year KDE day’s plan was dropped and I decided to drop my plan as well!! But thanks to people at my office ( VCL team ) for forcing me to do the presentation and finally I applied for the talk.

Eventually my talk got selected and I became a speaker at Foss.in. On 16th Dec 2010 at 11 am I gave my talk on “Writing plugins for Kate and enhancing Kate”.

Here is the presentation.
